Personal background |
i'm a 27, soon to be 28, year old IT manager (my taxes say Info Sys Mgr) living and working in puerto rico. i supervise 30 or so workstations in 4 different cities (three in florida one in PR).
i'm interested in the ability to use off-hours CPU cycles with this and hope to begin deployment of the BOINC client onto most of these computers in the near future. ~chris (twitter.com/chrisbovee) |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
1. I run SETI@home because I think we need to be put in our place as human beings and not much other than finding extraterrestrial life is going to do it.
2. I think this is a great project, in one way or another I've been participating since the late 90's and I can only hope one of my computers is the lucky one to discover life on another planet. if only i could remember the email address i used so many years ago?..
3. I would love a version that worked with not only my CPU but also my GPU, Windows Vista demands a good video cards, it's about time it was used! That AltiVec engine in my Mac is pretty nice too with it's ATI card. Anything that has it's own on-board fan should be usable here. |
