Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I just run BOINC on my home computer which is pretty basic at best.

SETI@Home is a fantastic project. I am amazed at the massive amount of computer time can be spread all over the world and although I have only contributed on a very small scale, I feel proud to continue to make a contribution.
Even if no extraterrestrial signals have been found to date, I continue to be hopeful that this project may find signs of intelligent life on other planets. Even if no life is subsequently detected, then it goes a long way to teach us how rare and precious life is.
