Profile: EricGlover

Personal background
My name is Eric Glover and I am from Fort Wayne, Indiana. I do like astronomy for a good number of reasons. Especially since it tells us our place in the universe and helps us to understand our global environment. Well I will get into some of my ideologies and beliefs now.

Hobbies: I'm into Ornithology (the study of birds) and taking pictures. I'm an avid fan of studying Hebrew. Sometimes I find myself peering into the sky and wondering how God brought it to be.

I'm Messianic Jew. I go to Northrop High School and am currently a Sophomore.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Here is the plausible benefits:

1. Advanced technology trade - Assuming this species is more intellectual and more advanced than us. They may have the answers to cure AIDs and the other types of cancers.

2. Space Program - Possibly they have the power to help us guide the stars with some advanced technology of their own? It would really help our space program and replace the Space Shuttles (which are plagued with problems currently). However to guard their secrets they would only help us on our way. A giant leap in the pinnacle of advancement.

I run SETI just to help SETI in it's search for the truth. Even though I truely do not believe life exists. I'm very earth centered anyway. However I'll put God into this...

God making the universe is known as the cosmological argument. The Cosmological Argument attempts to prove that God exists by showing that there cannot be an infinite number of regressions of causes to things that exist. It states that there must be a final uncaused-cause of all things. This uncaused-cause is asserted to be God.

The strengths of the Cosmological Argument lie in both its simplicity and easily comprehensible concept that there cannot be an infinite number of causes to an event. Some arguments for God's existence require more thought and training in terms and concepts, but this argument is basic and simple. Also, it is perfectly logical to assert that objects do not bring themselves into existence and must, therefore, have causes.
