Personal background
I currently live in the deep piney woods of East Texas, though originally from Alaska. I am 42 yrs old and have 3 teenage boys. I work in logistics. I use to work in the pharmaceutical field as well as hold 2 degrees one in computer sciences and chemistry. I am currently working on a degree in meteorology. I enjoy movies, all kinds of music. I keep a very active live style. Hiking, camping and working out regularly. Most anything science and science fiction interest me. I love to read and dabble in writing as well. I have hopes of one day building my own radio telescope using small yet abundant satelite dishes and grouping them together to work as a single unit. Maybe even run my own sweeps of the night sky for alien signals as well as doing amateur astronomy studies.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Years ago I ran SETI@Home on the classic version. I couldnt remember my email that I used nor my password so when I decided to begin running SETI@home again I was forced to start with my new mail. I love running the program and though I am not certain we will ever detect an intelligent transmission it is an honorable pursuit. I have hopes that we will locate a transmission and will run SETI@Home for as long as the project continues.

I believe SETI should receive more funding as a credible scientific study. What more profound discovery in the history of human existence than the discovery that we are not alone in the universe. I would love to work on the SETI project in one capacity or another.
