Personal background
The Life of an Electric Squid

( The 1 minute version )

Bad home-life forced me out of the home early. So I started my adulthood as a teen runaway (13), working for a traveling carnival in New Jersey just to survive. I was the Scrambler forman for many years. I grew to love that ride.

( The Scrambler I ran was featured in Popular Mechanics for the custom built trailer it sat and folded up on. It is 1 of 2 in existence. It also went 33RPM, listed speed is 11.4RPM max !!)

During the carnival years, I would spend my winters working on a 55' commercial long-line fishing boat out of Madeira Beach, Fl. We fished the Gulf of Mexico, doing 14-17 day Red Grouper trips and the occasional 7 day Shark trip.

Most fisherman called it hard work, for me, it was one hell of a vacation (I'm a hard worker). I'm sure Capt. Billy of the Tropic Star was glad I was aboard. The enthusiasm I had seemed to spread to the crew. I have a 1000 stories from that part of my life.

At right about 20, I landed my first construction job. Because I had no High School Diploma, it was about all I could find. But the pay was good, and I seemed to be a natural at it.

I did mostly roofing clean-up and drywall removal in the beginning, but soon it was me leading the way, installing roofs, drywall, decks, painting, landscaping, metal fabrication and anything else home and business owners needed done.

I guess it was my calling, because I've been a contractor for over 13 years now. In my most recent job, I build wine cellars and saunas for a small national company. I work with mostly red cedar, but we also use African mahogany, an all-heart redwood

I have a long time love for Dodge trucks, offroading, and the woods, so it's no surprise that I'm an active Gold Member of RamChargerCentral.com and own what is soon to be a very offroad capable monster of a Dodge

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think SETI is a great idea and I'm glad to be a part of it. I'm very happy it turned into something much bigger than a screen saver :P

It's like a real life version of the movie CONTACT.
(my favorite movie, tied in the #1 spot with the first Matrix)

Live long... and prosper.
