My current SETI rigs.
Above is my pride and joy gaming rig that runs SETI when not gaming. AMD 4400+ OC'd to 2.4 GHz, SLI, and all the other goodies.
Below you can see the intake to my second rig that crunches 24/7, albeit slowly. Intel PIII Coppermine 1GHz OC'd to 1.17 GHz, stripped down everything else to only the necessities. Modded the case for silence (3 total fans in the system - gfx card, psu, and side intake that cools the cpu and nb heatsinks); next up is a whisper-quiet PSU.
One of these days I hope to get a farm started for SETI, but I think that may be a few years away...ah well one can dream can't he? I'm sure quad or better cores will be cheap by then. |
