Personal background
Howdy, fellow space enthusiasts! My name's Mikael Heikkilä, I'm 28 years old, a student of film and english philology at the University of Oulu, Finland. I'm a proud owner of everything Star Trek ever made. (Including the animated series, in case y'all serious trekkies were interested. And yes, I know it's not really part of the Star Trek canon, but it's kind of Star Trek none the less... ;) I've always liked sci-fi films, so now that I'm (stuck) making documentary films, I thought I'd take part in the sci-fi (hopefully more sci ;) part of my dreams... Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind is forever etched in my mind as the penultimate sci-fi film of what meeting E.T./EBE (hopefully) would be like. (Of course, if you follow www.serpo.org, the film's not sci-fi at all ;) So naturally, if I can help spotting ET's call, I'm only too happy to help. So as long as SETI has its ear out there, listening, I'll be here. Listening. Endlessly listening. P.S. If you're wondering about the picture, that's me with my baby sister, Assia.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am a sucker for sci-fi storiesfilms and this seems to me to be the penultimate sci-fi thingy that I could hope to be a part of. Whether ET would actually use radio frequency signals to contact anyone, I don't know. But if it is possible to find out, I'm all for it!

Y'all should add a little sign or box to the screen saver that would show some indication of how interesting/if there's anything interesting that the program is analyzing. Like a huge big red sign saying WE HAVE A POSSIBLE CONTACT or PLEASE CONTACT SETI BECAUSE WE'VE GOT ALIENS ON THE OTHER END!!! or something like that :)
