Personal background |
I am a 35 year old networking infrastructure salesman. Married to a lovely wife, Jennifer, and we just had our first baby boy - Terrence James "Jamie" Boylan III named after my dad. I enjoy fly-fishing for trout, stripers and bluefish on Nantucket and Cape Cod. Recently have taken up SCUBA diving and seek to go deeper on wrecks this year. We live just outside of Boston, MA. When I saw the SETI@home project and found out they could benefit from my laptops while I sleep, I thought that was a no-brainer.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
The thought of extra terrestrial intelligence has been given a bad wrap by people's reaction to hollywood. One has to be very narrow-minded to not admit the possibility of alien intelligence. While the idea facinates me, I am in no position to fully understand it. Sooooo - this is my small contribution to the cause. I have seen at least once, that I can recall, an anomoly occur on my screensaver. It was pretty dramatic and am sure it meant something to someone.
I think the work is invaluable and am glad it is taken seriously by NSF and the like.
