Personal background
From America, but living and working in Korea right now. I thought Korea need a little more representation on the SETI@Home list. Besides, who knows, maybe the ETs might speak something similar to an Asian dialect. Someone ought to be ready. :-)

Anyone else out there running SETI@Home in Asia?

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think something is out there. Unfortunately we may not find it in my lifetime. Well, not anything we can communicate with. I am sure eventually we'll find some sort of fungi or something similar, but I doubt we'll be able to ask it about its history.

I think any benefits far outweigh any dangers we might come across. There may be possible 'dangers' that might emanate from home rather than 'out there' if we do discover any signal; but I believe anything that makes us think is also a benefit.

I can't see why we should't let others know we are here. We have been doing it indirectly ever since radio; why not just directly send a signal saying "We're here. Give us a call."

I've always tried to help in anyway I can. This is just another pretty easy way to help, so why not?
