Profile: Robert Hurst Sr

Personal background
I'm 53 years of age. I'm retired and live in Marquette, KS. I'm a Father of two and a Grandfather of four with one on the way.

I served in the Marine Corps during the Viet Nam era and consider my self to be an inactive marine as there are no former Marines in existence “Once a Marine, always a Marine.”

I was a Police Officer in Northern California. Finally, I drove truck 48 states and Canada,

I consider myself to be an old school Computer Geek from the late '70's, and '80's when MS-Dos ruled the world and you could do just about anything if you knew how to program. My very first PC (LOL) back in ‘79 was a Timex Sinclair 1000.

Now I spend my time with the Grand Kids, fishing or playing on my computers while watching some space type sify's, or the occasional episode of Lost In Space.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because it gives me a sense of contributing to something bigger than myself. I've been exposed to numerous scientific ideas from such show as Startrek,SG1, SG Atlantis, School of course, and so I'm interested in these types of projects.

I also believe it is biblical to think there are others, created by God, out there.

I also run Einstein@home and Milkyway@home.
