Profile: Thomas Janausch

Personal background
I am a 30 year old Linux software engineer fascinated with Astronomy - and the search for extrasolar planets and live on other planets. I grew up in Neugersdorf a small town in Eastern Germany and now live and work with my wife and two kids near Phoenix, Arizona.

Besides stargazing my hobbies include General Aviation (I am an instument rated private pilot), Photography (all digital now) and spending time outdoors with the family (the kids are too young to go camping yet - but we will when they are big enough).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think SETI is a great project. However, I can't say for sure that this is the best way to look for intelligent life out there, but hey, you got to start somehow and doing something is better than nothing. I am more than happy do donate my unused CPU cycles for this cause.
