Personal background |
Hi I am Thorsten, from Haltern am See, Germany.
I am 50 years old and I am working as an infrastructure architect.
My hobbies are sound-engineering and "inventing" (a huge word for the little I do). |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I have to run a computer all day long in my professional live. But it is not always running on full load. So, why not doing something useful with the "GAP"?
Honestly, I do know, we are not alone in space. Although we couldn't get in touch with anyone else, I am very sure, we will get in touch soon.
With whom ever.
Yeah, maybe we are "listening" on the wrong frequencies, maybe we miss THE call to us, because the dish is not in the optimal direction.
But one thing is sure: If we would not try, we will miss it with certainty.
Maybe we could get more data from other telescopes? If they would record while the are moved, it would not be THAT much more data, but it increases the probability to hit the call to us, with almost no more effort. |
