Personal background
Hi! It's nice to see I'm not alone with an interest in space, and astronomy, as well as astrology. As my home is on the Chesapeake Bay, Land of Pleasant Living, in Maryland, USA, my view toward the skies covers a vast area. The local community of Herrington Harbor leaves a wide open spance for my star viewing across the bay toward Maryland's eastern shore. At the position of my home on the bay, that distance is about fifteen miles to the other shore.

We have the view of the ocean going merchant shipping, and the beautifully lit cruise ships as they move out of Baltimore Harbor. My home is about thirty miles south of Annapolis. For reference, the name "Chesapeake" means, in the local indian language, waters of plenty fish. That is still true today, and fishing is my all time favorite hobby.

Next in the line of my interest is traveling, and puppies, as well as learning about computers and the internet, and sharing with my family and friends using both. Online you can find me playing many of the CD-ROM games where we use IP addresses to make matches with other internet players. Right now, I'm enjoying the Game of Life, Sorry, Slingo, and Clue, and on the website for games, Pogo.com, the Ali Baba slots :-) Now there is a star registered in my screen name, SkyLabAstro and it's located in the constelation of Pegasus, at Right Ascension: 21h 59m 40.62s, Declination: 33:03:57.1 , Magnitude: 9.0, Topical Constelation Longitude 17 Pisces 38' 52"

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The sky is not the limit, nor are the stars. ~~ SkyLabAstro

Definitely there would be extraterrestrial life existing besides ourselves and our planet. Humans will probably discover it during the 21st Century. Possibly our race can benefit by such a discovery, just for the efforts we make toward our first encounter.

Transmitting a beacon for others to find would be one such way to make contact with any extraterrestrial l life that may exist. The information we should send is truthful dialogue about our present place in society today. Perhaps each nation can have a spokesperson to share their own language, and to provide any intelligent life the opportunity to see how well diversified our societies are already, which could encourage the first contact with us.

SETI@home is run on my home computer because this is my small contribution to this worthy venture. Also, my spreading the word among my family, friend, and through my website is another way in which this effort may continue. My views about this project are one of the great feeling of pride that it gives to me and those I've known using SETI@home.

Any suggestions for the SETI@home project could be to include some interactive participation, on a voluntary basis, live with technical personal to receive real information that is pertinent for your workplace.
