who am i? that is a question even i cant fully understand, let alone answer. are my age, my occupation and my hobbies really me? or are they just attributes and descriptions?
in any case, i am joshua chernin. a 21 (at this time) year-old male from sonoma county. i go to the local junior college, but have no idea what i want to do in terms of my career.
i have more than one job:
i work at the local health-food grocery store as a stock-person. i also do web design for tea circle (www.tea-circle.com), a company that sells japanese tea ceremony items on the internet. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

i honestly am not sure y i run seti@home on my computer. i think it has to do with the fact that i believe something is out there, or at least i want to believe so. unlike many other belief systems (esp. many religions), participating in this system negatively affects noone. i am not creating any war, not contributing to suffering soley based on some ideological difference, nor benefiting myself in anyway.
but to be completely honest, i doubt we will ever find any evidence of intelligent life. if there is any life, and it is at all intelligent, it must be keeping itself as far away as possible! we cant even achieve peace with our own kind, let alone peace with another species. |
