Personal background
I am an engineering graduate from Trinity College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science. I have recently become interested in working on the college level as an adminstrator in the area of student affairs and as such am exploring opportunities to get involved specifically in the areas that intersect communities involving the sciences and higher education. I'm a self professed nerd with a love of dreaming the big dream.

I wonder if readig the CS Lewis novels the Chronicles of Narnia in 3rd grade helped get things rolling with my love of the fantastic... I also spent some of my youth enthralled with the Piers Anthony novels which connected the fantasy and science fiction genres in a fun way. Over time I have developed an affinity for TV shows such as Quantum Leap, Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, StarGate, and pretty much anything in the science fiction and fantasy genre. I don't spend much time watching these shows but they are fun to enjoy with friends or while eating a meal or unwinding.

I also love live music (specifically college a cappella music!), am a big Sarah McLachlan fan, and love Macintosh computers too. If you're reading this and you want to drop me a line feel free. I think the world is too small to put up walls between people who could have a great conversation.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think this project is a great way to share the load. I have a true belief that there is life beyond earth somewhere out there and I'd love to think that I could play a small role in helping to pump out the calculations needed to sift through the static to find it. I think that even finding a sign of life beyond us would have a global impact on our world community in a very positive way. Just as happens when any world conflict is faced with a global incident that forces us to work more positively with each other, I think that a signal from space could have a positive impact on our world.
