Personal background
Hello there.

My name is Rade Stojanovski from Skopje Macedonia and I'm very happy to be a part of this great project. The idea is beautifull: to harness the power of all computers world wide to listen the signals from outher space. I am a very very big fan of Star Trek and I'm interested in space and astronomy. In my country there is nobody that cares about some space program or something like that so I have to be pleased with things like this. Thank you and I'm glad to help.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
OK. I do think that extraterrestrial life exists but about being discovered...
That will take some time. First of all the signals that we are receving are too old so that the civilization that send them may be allready dead. If not dead how can we send them some answer? It will take so much time.
Now about the benefits of such of discovery: If we can make a contact with them that would be great. Imagine all the discoveries they have made. We can share all the thing we know in phisics, chemistry, biologue, genetics and a lot of other things so maybe they would like to share the same things with us. We can learn a lot of new things and also teach them something. The advance in tehnology will be so great like never before. And about the dangers I dont think there is some danger. How the hell they wil come here if they are hostile?
If they seek for someone to be eaten or destroyed they would probably find us till now. Also the has to be warp travel capable to come here. Maybe they are and if so and if they are friendly they will share that technology with us. That is so great.

2. The beacon that we should transmit will be very slow that the first closest star will be reachet about fifty years in the future. We need some faster way to transmit or to travel. And the information shoud be general but in all the languages on earth. Position of the Earth, some greatings and all that. We dont know what language they might understand.

3. I run Seti@home because I think that some day some sort of proof will be found that we are not alone. The greatest unanswered question of all times: Are we alone? We really need that answer.
