Personal background
CQ CQ KC8SZV comeback, CQ CQ KC8SZV comeback.....Im gonna need a bigger antenna....LOL Hello! My name is Heather aka Elie (from Contact) and when I first heard about SETI@HOME I couldn't believe it. I signed up right away and currently looking at my program right now I have completed 101 units and have used 1776 hrs of my computer CPU time.

My grandfather got me hooked on the stars as a kid. We would stay up late at night (much to my parents disliking about thier 8 yr old daughter looking at stars) and search the heavens for constellations and that unknown flying object from time to time. Like Elie's father my grandfather passed away when I was very young and even though he put into my soul the love for outer space I just don't have the mathimatical ability to work for who I really want to in the end, NASA.

So I did the next best thing I could, I got my ham radio license. My whole family are hams (4 of us in a home of 5). My brothers and myself are only technician class but my dad is Extra class so we have a great variety of things we can do. I plan on going all the way to extra but just havn't had the time to get it done.

So thats me and I am PROUD to be a part of SETI@HOME! THANK YOU!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes I do believe extraterrestrial life exists. I think that humans may already have discovered it ie Rosewell , but I don't think we are grown up enough to handle the truth and thats why our governments won't come out and tell us. Reason for it? we would break down our own structures for everything we created in and believed in would be native not to the USA or Great Britian but to the entire planet. I think thats what scares people.
2. I think humans should transmit a beacon. But then again perhaps not. If we do I think we should send a beacon for help. We are destroying ourselves like a kid shooting everything with a BB gun. We need an outside force to come in and show us that we are the HUMAN race not Christan/Muslim/jew/black/white/red.
3. I run SETI@home because I think its a great oportunity for everyone to become involved in what I believe to be the most important discovery of the human race. I think the project is run very well but I believe more advertising would make more people interested in the project. Over all I love it! DON'T CHANGE A THING!
