Profile: Grizzland

Personal background
43 year old male from the United States ( Washington State to be exact ) working and loving life as we know it. Have been a "computer geek" from the get go and am totally and utterly inthralled with the fact that life exists on other planets.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of all the space and time that man can think of, there is that many more spaces and times in our Universe. Times that by 100 and we might just begin to comprhend that we are not alone in the Universe.

We have only begun to explore the reaches of outer space and I can't help but be on the edge of my seat, waiting for something to happen to us, mankind. The very thought of making contact with a being from the dark confinds of space alone, lends itself to the most exquisite dreams of the imagination.

How can one see the possibilities of this grand connection and not be overwhelmed with visions of eliminating every disease, every crime and every poverty mankind has placed on himself over the eons.

This search is beyond ourselves, beyond what we do from day to day. It is the search for our survival as a species. And now, more then ever, we need the hope that someday soon we will have what we are looking for.... a neighbor in the universe.
