Profile: ACIDJUNK

Personal background
Hello,

My name is Dennis Wissink, my nick for SETI is Acidjunk. Why do I call myself Acidjunk, because I am a big addict of Acid music. I am also in my freetime a DJ, my DJ name is DJ DNS, I have my own website www.djdns.nl where you can see and listen what I do.

I am from Holland, I live in Enschede and I am 32 years old. I am working for a big ICT company: AtosOrigin, my function is ICT TeamLeader. I am stationed in Arnhem at a big company: AKZO NOBEL.

Why did I enlist myself for SETI?? I believe that we are not alone in this whole universe, maybe with my help, and all the others who share their computing power can help SETI to find any evidence of extra terrestrial life.

Greetz,

Dennis Wissink "ACIDJUNK"
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am certain that we can not be alone..... Maybe SETI can find any evidence of any lifeforms. However I do believe that they can communicate on a level that we cannot understand, hopefully they use radio waves.

If we establish 1st contact, I think that the human race can benefit of their knowledge. Also I believe that when we make that contact, the complete religion believe will be altered, resulting in a renewal and rethinking of that which will give extremists other thoughts. Although the extremists can also give problems with this contact, maybe they refuse to accept the facts.

We should transmit a beacon for others to find us, but we already do, transmitting TV and radio waves to the outter regions.

The contact will not be physical i think, because our known physic laws limit that. Distance is a big problem, even when we travel by the speed of light. Maybe another way of travelling can help that out....

I run SETI to help SETI finding evidence because I believe that should be dono by any PC User, idle time on PC's is best used by giving some help calculating and exploring parts of the universe.
