Profile: Martin Russell @ HOME in Kendal, Cumbria,UK

Personal background
WW2 battle re-enactment for public events. Represent 505th 82nd Airborne.
Started SETI 1999 at my then job as an IT technician at a very large French owned Insurance company. Myself and a colleague, would install 100's of PCs in branches all over Britain, and set Seti running on all of them as a test. We would leave them running for days and days. It was best at the year 2000 Y2K global test. We set everything we could going with Seti, over 3 or 4 days of testing. Rose up the rankings then! Now, just me and my home PC, leave it running during the day, as long as I get home before the wife, to turn it off.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Seti is just a small simple was of helping in the big scheme of things. Every little helps. As for Seti, there is no way we are alone, it is just that the distances between us are so vast, it is early days yet.
