Personal background
I am currently a Social Science in Teaching Major at the University of Northern Iowa, with minors in Psychology, Sociology, and US History. It is my belief that intelligent life outside of our solar system must exist, in one form or another. Whether that form is benevolent or malevolent is dependant upon how we interpret a response from that life. I just think that it is too big of a universe for us to be the only planet with intelligent life on it.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I personally run SETI@home in order to participate, and help in a project I feel is of good nature. I think that if scientist and people with open minds are the first persons to receive a signal from an ET source, it will have it's best chance of not being misinterprated.
