I live in the Chicago area. I'm 48 years old. I have been participating in Seti@Home for 6 years. I work as a chemical salesman to the Healthcare and Hospitality industries. My computers have finished 1721 work units. My earlier machine was quite slow and required 12+ hours to finish a work unit. My new machine finishes work units in 2 hours.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run Seti@Home because I believe it is a worthwhile pursuit. I would hate for we, as a people, to miss an intelligent transmission because Seti is incapable of scanning all the data it collects on its own.
