I'm teaching high school Physics at North Toronto Collegiate Institute in Toronto, Canada.
There, I coach the Alpine Ski Team and the FIRST robotics team - Team 820 - Team DeltaTech Rules!
2002 was our rookie year!
Check out the schools web page at: ntci.on.ca
Be sure to browse to the Physics department and Robotics Club pages
At night I can sometimes be found teaching Telemark skiing for Ski Telemark at the North York Ski Centre.
Telemark skiers parallel because they can...
Alpine skiers parallel because they must.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I figured that if my school lab computers are going to be on during the day they shouldn't just run any stupid screen saver. When I heard about SETI@HOME, I immediately signed up - at home and then on all 10 computers at school when they arrived.
The screen saver is a good conversation piece and gets the students thinking about space exploration in a more down to earth manner than Star Wars. It provides a good starting point for our Grade 9 space unit.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
