Personal background
I am an undergrad at the University of wales Bangor (yes that is the small country on the side of the UK with lots of hills and sheep) studying computer science.
I currently run an athlon xp 1800 (stock) and a dell p4 1500 (also stock) in my name. i hope to get the parts together to get my old athlon classic (slot A) working agian so i can run that as well. I might overlock my current athlon system to try and get more set results (and a higher 3d mark score).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1 Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
YES!! surely we cannot be the only life in this universe.

2 Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?
YES, i think we should transmit in every language "Ignore our tv and radio its full of rubbish"

3 Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?
I run seti so i can say to my kids that i helped find Aliens, and maybe even boast to ET one day that i helped make contact with there world....

seti also makes one of the best benchmark programs arround, it runs on almost every platform conceviable and as long as you avearge out the times it takes to run you get a pretty good benchmark score...
