I'm a 35 year old government employee in Ottawa, Ontario with varying interests which range from collecting old classic hardcovers to history to astronomy. I've always believed that our search of space was necessary as I certainly believe that the odds of us being the only civilisation in existence are so tiny that we have to find others. Now whether they look like us or have a strikingly different look is something I look forward to finding out.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe life exists "out there" and I also believe that they are waiting for us to mature as a species before contacting us. The benefits are only outweighed by what we might do with it. I believe that seti at home is a worthwhile project as it allows the everyday person to actually help out and its denfinately something that allows a nice warm and fuzzy feeling to be a part of something such as this.
