Personal background
I live in Hillsboro, Or. and I run in the mid century age range. I work for a local telephone company and repair the cable network. I spend as much time possible on the casting end of a fishing pole and a few other water sports keep me busy. I also build and repair computers in my garage and are always looking for a faster one.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm pretty emphatic about ET life. I've seen some strange things in the sky and it was not any kind of flight craft this world has. I don't think that we have to discover ET, I think they have already discovered us and are just waiting for us to stop killing each other and live in peace. We, as a unified planet, could benefit from their technology of space travel, medical information, and maybe even a new way to stop world hunger. These possibilites are endless and I cannot fathom all the directions this could take good or bad.
I believe we are already transmitting information thru space at an alarming rate of speed that can be picked up by an intelligent life form, i.e., radio,tv,laser lights, and telecommunication satellite signals that transmit data as well voice.
I run SETI@home for helping the discovery of an ET. SETI is one of most important, out of this world projects that we as humans need to continue for mankind. This up with space exploration, deep ocean exploration and dna science.
