Personal background
I'm a 40 something self employed computer nerd. I'm the first that had a wireles network amongst my friends. I certainly hope that there is some form of intelligent life 'out there'. There certainly isn't alot of it here right now... This country has gone down the toilet since 2001. Fear and loathing everywhere, and I'm just talking about in my house... ;-) I fear Bush more than Saddam, which doesn't say much, or maybe it does...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
If extra-terrestrial life exists, and they looked around down here, do you think that they would want to chat us up? I didn't think so either. We have to find them...

It would be rather ironic if the 'beacon' turned into a signal that led a group of cosmic joyriders to our planet... Zaphod would be an interesting guy to meet at the local hangout... Just remember your towel... It would be extra ironic if a race of beings that roam the galaxy tasting the creatures that they meet... Remember: They'll eat the fat people first...

I run SETI@Home because I want to furthut the cause of finding some form of contact with people 'out there'... Plus I loved the movie Contact. If there is ever a cooler movie about SETI and all that it could be to mankind, I don't know what it is...
