Hello,
I’m StarChild. I’m 23 and from Toronto Ontario Canada. I went to school for Computer Programming yet currently am employed as an accountant. I enjoy creating music (both digital and analog) reading the collected works of the philosophical masters, meditation, and recreational use of mind expanding substances ( only legal ones of course!!!! :) )

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I completly agree that life exists on other worlds. The universe is just too big for us to believe we are the only form of life inside of it. I don't think that Human kind will find conclusive evidence for quite some time, but we will find little "bits" of info that point to or suggest the posibility. I believe that the SETI program will eventually find these "bits". I believe that the benifits of Human kind will be very dramatic and far reaching, although, they could be either Good or Evil. It all depends on which goverment is the first to "talk to ET". I believe that if the American Goverment or any other miltary state are the first too make contact they could very easily use alien technology for Military purposes insead of Humanistic purposes. We have the potential to either unite Humanity with this information, or destroy it.
We as humans should definatly send out beacons to "introduce" ourselves to the galactic community. But again, this could hinder us if we are picked up by a war-like race like ourselves.
The reason I run SETI at home is in a vain attempt to possibly do something amazing with my life and actually detect an ET. I doubt that I will, but you never know!!!!
