Yes I thinck so, but I thinck that we can discover them, but never meet them.
For the benefits and dangers of such discovery, you can read the SF stories... it explains a lot of the things, that could happen... we're not sure of the reactions an other civilization can have, when they discover us. It's not sure that they will react as we hope, as we fear, or simply not reat.Everything is possible.
Yes we have to, jsut to say that we exist, that they are not alone.We should send a "Welcome" message, but not necercely informations about us...
I run SETi because I am very interesseting to know if we can detect some ET, prove to the other that they exist, help people who need my help to work, to prove (or not) their theories. |
