My name is Jason Boonham. I am 34 years old and married with 2 kids. I have a very diverse background in banking and insurance, with experience in project management, marketing, business development and training. I can also speak, read and write fluent Chinese Mandarin.
My hobbies include rock climbing, reading all sorts of books, watching movies, listening to music, cycling, swimming, badminton, tennis, etc. I really love playing all types of computer games, Warcraft, Medal of Honour, Soldier of Fortune, Star Trek Games (All types), Star Wars - Jedi Knight series, etc.
I am an avid fan of Star Trek. Yes, that means I am a Trekkie. I do not dress up in their uniforms, much to the relief of my wife. Although I am a little confused how the new series Enterprise, which is supposed to be set before the Original Series (with Captain Kirk), manages to have more species, better equipment and techology. |

I am sure that extraterrestrial life exists. If we are arrogant enough to believe that we are the only form of intelligent life in the universe, then it is not surprising that extraterrestials have not made contact with us.
We will discover extraterrestrial life when we are ready. In that I mean where we have grown beyond the quest for individual wealth and global domination. Where we all work towards the betterment of mankind and the world in which we live.
I am sure if we discover it now, the alien life form will be conceived as a threat or it will be exploited like the natural resources of our own planet. If they also have the same level of contempt that we have for lessor species, then the entire human race is in trouble.
SETI@home is a forward thinking method of processing large amounts of information that has been collected. It really shows what mankind can do when it combines its efforts. This, combined with the Internet has only begun to scratch the surface at our true potential. |
