Some type of ectraterrestial life exists. I hope that it is intelligent and advanced and peaceful. Hopefully, they can bring additional insight to us through contact.
I think that there is a danger inherrent in contact, but there are also benefits which I hope outweigh the dangers.
I think it matters not if we transmit and official beacon. I feel with everything that we have been doing and are doing is transmitting information that an intellegent species should be able to pick up if they are trying.
Running SETI@home with the hope and desire to contribute to the effort as I feel that it needs doing.
