| I am a 26 year old Army wife with three children. I suppose the only reason I've started this is because I have a little bit of interest in what might be found with my assistance. So far, I've been watching the progress of what my computer has come up with, though I don't understand all of it yet. I hope to learn more. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1) I don't know for sure if extraterrestrial life exists, because I haven't really heard anything that completely denies or confirms it. It never hurts to look, though. There's a lot of space out there. It would be disappointing to think it's all just going to waste!
2) I think we should transmit beacons. Of course, I think I'm hardly the person to come up with what might be sent to extraterrestrial civilizations, nor do I think that they might have developed the same as ours has. If they recieved anything, would they be looking for it or understand?
3) I have been running this so far to see what comes of it. Not so much for any sort of recognition (my computer is doing all the work, not me), but in the hope that maybe there's something else out there. At the very least, I hope, it can't hurt to try. The project itself is an amazing endeavour, though I can imagine those working directly with it might find it tedious at times. |
