Personal background
I am somewhat a jack-of-all-trades with most of my background being in computer hardware, graphics and web design.

I enjoy most types of music, however I have always preferred classical over other types. I dabble in amateur astronomy, ornothology and meteorology.

If asked if I think there's life out there, I'd have to quote the line from the movie "Contact": "If there's not life out there, it would be a terrible waste of space". Just the very fact that there are so many stars, each with the potential of having its own planetary system is enough argument for me... As Mr. Spock says..."To deny the possibility of life elsewhere in the galaxy would be an arrogant presumption that we are alone.

I would love to be a space tourist and travel to the International Space Station or even some other more exotic location; Mars perhaps!

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have hope that pooling computer resources will be what makes it possible for us to contact other worlds. I do hope however that they contact us before we contact them because I'm concerned the message(s) we are sending through our broadcast media may misrepresent humanity. If the only impression other civilizations have of us is based on what they see on our TV or hear on our radio, ET may think we all live like sitcom characters or terrorists on the six-o-clock news. Think about it... Will someone visit us to perform an interstellar ethnic cleansing? Will they come and offer wisdom and guidance to help us "mend" our society?
