Personal background
Hi SETI@home users

The short Version: I'm living in Zurich - Switzerland, home of the biggest Tibetan Community outside of Dharamsala, at least in Europe.

SETI@home is actually running on a Pentium 3.2 GHz series 600, WinXP Pro SP2.

I hope there will be SOMEWHERE in the universe a sign of intelligent life ;-)
... trusting in much more "humanity" in its best form and of course, compassion!

For a independant Tibet, keep on hoping and searching,

Roland
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Q1. Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
A1. Of course, YES! Perhaps human beings could be not "tough" enough or will be too ignorant, to recognize "ET", when some day we'll have found our cosmic "neighbours" ...
"Benefits", so I hope, will be a "human race" - united - no more differences between "countries", "races" and "religions" !!
"Dangers" are our (actual) "fears" and "prejudices" ...

Q2. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?
A2. YES, and of course we DID and SHOULD DO it (almoust) day by day by economically "micro-probes" in all directions.
Voyager probe's "Laserdisc" WAS a good way, i think, but almost 30 years ago and human beings have current no (more) significant activities in outer space for a TOO long time :-(

Q3. Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?
A3. To find ET, the "Original" one ;-) I'm not sure, if we'll find during "our present time" extraterresterial life, i.e. possible signals could be too old and that form of life / civilization - at our "present" - would be already "past" thousands or millions years ago.
We should find "better" ways to find "ET" or preferred by me: That we'll be "worth" to be found by ET ...

In general: Sorry about my bad Swiss school English :-)
