Personal background
Hello ET's

I am from NY and hope we are not alone. The data analysis we all are taking part in, is an attempt to find fault with that alone idea? Are we alone??? I work in the semiconductor industry and can truley appriciate the advancements in computer sciences. The power of the CPU has made this conversation possible as well as making alternative data analysis possible. I hooe that Carl Sagan's speech during Cosmos in highlighting the BILLION WORD was well worth it. What a great man and hopefully, the billions of stars and billions of galazies, will show that we are not a freak of nature???? Too many possibilites. Long live Star Strek and the dream...

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
A great question.

Are we alone??? Well, I hope not and the question I belive is one that will ellude us for quite some time. For some groups, and peoples, we need to define intellegence. The Eskimo's were an intelegent people, but did not have the means for transmitting complicated radio becons. Does this inability make them less intellegent or less sophisdicated?? I think not. I do belive, given the nature of the universe, distance and a number of stars, surprisingly we have not heard from an advanced spiecies. As I understand, our nearest galaxy is 2,000,000 light years away? Well, seeing that light travels at 186,000 mile per second and the universe is cloe to 12-13 billion years old, why have we not heard a beacon??? Suppose that a developing world was able to develop without the interference of a dinosour period? This would give such a period of development, and advancement of a spiecies, some 330,000,000 years of growth or destruction?? Given the possible stars and galaxy variables, we should of heard of someone, or something by now.

Regarding the transmission of a signal... We do it every second of every day...

I run SET@home beacuse I believe!!!!!!!
