The truth is out there somewhere. SETI is an honest step towards finding it. Here is a thought for you.
If you suspect your computer is not being utilized to it's fullest extent and may be 'goofing off'; You may be right. FACT: A computer spends almost all of it's operating time waiting for it's owner to give it a command; any command, however useless. Why not give your goofing off computer something useful to cogitate upon while it awaits your next whim? Processing a few bytes of data for SETI is a great way for your computer to feel GREAT about its self and YOU too for exposing your computer to this worth while pass time.
