Personal background
I'm a computer engineer currently working in the networking field. I design the hardware and write VHDL code to make it all work. I've worked at small and large companies, the most notable being Sun Microsystems where I designed the Sparcstation IPC and Sparcstation 5 motherboards. I'm a techno geek with GPS's and palm pilots everywhere.

I'm also an avid racer, owning a Porsche 944S2 which I autocross, track and club race.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Statisticlly, life on other planets has to exist. Whether they FIND us (or we find them) is undoubtably the harder problem.

Not sure if we should advertise where we are. If Darwin was correct, there could be worse things out there than us.

I run SETI because I want to know. Pretending there isn't anything there doesn't make it go away...
