Personal background
I am a Project Engineer for Tyco International, Video Systems Division in San Diego. HOBBIES
Astronomy: I've been a Contributing Member of the San Diego Astronomy Association (SDAA) for the past 22 years. When I joined the Association, I owned a Meade, 8" f6 GEM mounted Newtonian. I used this scope for observing and astrophotography for most of those 22 years. In the latter part 2000, I decided it was time for a new scope, so I purchased a Meade, 10" f10 LX200 SCT. This new scope has rekindled my astronomy interests, I've become much more active in the Association, and enjoy the hobby much more. The Ol'Newt hasn't died though, see what happened to it, here on my web, it's been born again as a Truss Tube Dob! I've recently taking up Astronomy Sketching, as soon as I have a few sketches completed, I'll post them hear in my Album page. I'm also a member of the Astronomical League, a Member-in-Standing, where I am working on my Double Star Certificate and my Herschel 400 Certificate. Daunting tasks, but when those times hit, late in the evening when you've looked at all the bright Messier objects visible, and you ask yourself, "What should I look at next?", I turn to my lists and knock a few off each time I observe. It takes more time this way, but I never lack for something to look at and record in my logs.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I don't know if we'll ever find anything with SETI, but how do we know unless we try. I feel that we can't be the only ones here, there's just too many stars and worlds in our galaxy for us to be the only intelligence in the galaxy. As Carl Sagan wrote in "Contact", sure would be a waste of space.
