Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe, no .. I dream that there is something more out there, something not of this world, something to give meaning to the big picture of things. Looking around me daily, seeing mankind, truly makes me doubt that we are anything special to be alone in this universe.

Over the years my belief in ETL has waned, and my faith in the utilisation of technology, let alone the chance of recognition of ETL signals being made public has dropped dramatically to the point where I run the SETI@Home screen saver simply because 'starfields' or 'blankscreen' are boring.

I am one of the many unhappy campers in the SETI@Home realm who feel that not enough progress is being made, although sure we can't expect immediate results, however the amount of time spent on this project does not co-relate to the amount of results or possible results we have receieved (or should I say have been made public).

Put me back in the days of the WOW signal and I might be happy, but at this point in time, a point where man claims to have walked on the moon .. thirty or so years ago, but has yet to return, where science and technology are at a peak, but we still suffer from colds, and we still don't return to space .. pfft, it's a crock of shit.

If ETL exists, I hope it opens a can of whoop arse on us and utilises the resources of this planet for something meaningful, like an intergalactic sewage deposit.
