Personal background
Howdy!, I'm from Bogota, Colombia. Now I'm 23 and expecting to begin my degree in journalism and mass communication, but meanwhile I'm helping SETI@home to find that little signal that finally will give us the answer, that we really know is obvious: Universe is too big and we can't be alone!
However, I decided to be part of this when I saw the movie "Contact", and then understand that the possibilities are infinite and that there is hope deep within ourselves, that we need to know so many things and that the only thing that keeps us alive is to know that we are not alone.

There are so many things that will be mysteries unsolved, but we only have this certainty: we are made of stardust, and if we want to find the answer, we have to keep listening the stars!

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
We walk very slowly in this arena, because we have the fear of making a mistake, but once we understand that extraterrestrial life is something we shouldn't have doubts about, we will find easier the path to them. However, this is like walking on broken glass, it can be good, it can be bad, there are no certainties about this subject and definitely it depends on how understanding we can be about extraterrestrial life and consider all possibilities. If we ever decided to send messages to contact distant civilizations, the only need to know the basics, who we are and where we live, if they want to make friends or they feel curious, they will reply, this is how a good friendship always start, you never give your pin number to the first person that walks in front of you.

I decided to run SETI@home because is obvious that processing this information will take too much time and that one computer will take too long to do it, and while I'm playing games in the computer, some of the potential of the machine should be used in something that is so or much more important than any game made for computers. The only way I can support now this visionary project is running the program on my computer, and I do believe that this is a big task that should be taken in community and support.

The suggestions: "Keep up the great work and never lose your hope!"
