I'm a techie and sci-fi nerd from So. CA. Not too much to say about myself, I just love computers, Linux, OS-X, and anything that takes more than 500W. =)
I am 22 years old (as of writing this on 6/23/04) and I pretty much survive by doing freelance computer repair, sales, programming, websites, databases, etc. Nothing big, but enough to get by and to get me some new toys occasionally.
For fun (and occasionally money) I do random computer/electronic-related projects. I tend to use C/C++, PHP, Java/Javascript, and Shell for most of my projects.
I'm currently striving for getting every Computer related certification known to man. =P And, don't ask why, just... "Why not?"

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I joined Seti over 4 years ago, and since then I basically forgot about it, with work, and college. Recently I started back up, putting Seti on every computer I own, so my Workunit count is going up rather rapidly, especially seeing as how my computers now take 2-3 hours to crunch one out, and when I started 4 years ago it took 12 hours. =)
Anyway, I run Seti because I truly believe that there is intelligent life out there. They may not be advanced enough to travel to us, just like we aren't really advanced enough to travel to them, but they are out there. I just hope the CPU cycles I'm givin' up can at least lend a small hand toward proving the existance of and contacting Intelligent Life.
As for suggestions for Seti, nothing major I suppose. My only suggestions were recently implemented with this new BOINC version of Seti! So Kudos to the Seti team. You've done a great job thus far, keep it up!
And Kudos to all you nerds out there running Seti. =) I run it on everything I own now. Although I can't keep some of them on 24/7 since I pay for power. =\
I wonder if I can write off running Seti as an expense. =P
