Profile: Manuel Campilho

Personal background
I am from Portugal, Porto (where the Porto wine is aged). I always liked scientific reading and adventures books. I studed Electrical engineenring and I am working with a company that develops CAD-CAM programs for the Shoe industry and also at the helpdesk of the Porto's Social Security. I used to do fencing, horse riding, judo, parachuting and swiming. At the present I am married for almost 10 years, have a daugther of 8 and a son of 6 (not among us anymore since the 29th of September 2000). My mother is a Geography teathcer and when I was arround 12/14 I used to attend to the private classes she used to give explaining Astronomy, and I loved it. My dream was to join the air force to (and still is) to pilot an aircraft and one day visit the Kennady Space Center to see a live Space Shutle take off.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I believe in extraterrestrial live? That's the question I was made by several people when I showed them the Seti program and explain its goal. Yes, if we do exist here, why not elsewhere in the universe? It would be a selfish view to consider we are the only ones in this uge Universe. I think Seti@home is my umble and at the present only way to help in this seek for extraterrestrial live. Keep up the good work.
