Personal background |
BACKGROUND: I live in West Texas, close to the place where Judge Roy Bean held court at the Jersey Lilly. I am an Anglophile with a field of interests including Native American banjo playing (www.fluth.com), the tales of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, John Wesley, and digital steganography. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
SETI THOUGHTS: I enjoy SETI in the way that Pooh Bear likes honey. The book, Pooh's Little Instruction Book explains Pooh's thoughts on honey: "Even though eating honey is a very good thing to do, there is a moment just before you begin to eat it which is better."Â To me, SETI is best thought about rather than experienced. Even if SETI proves that there has been or is some form of life in another part of the universe, it might mean nothing to me in regard to us and our lives here on earth. What does matter to me is the anticipation of finding something sweet and wonderful in SETI. For now, the anticipation is enough to keep me going. |
