I am of 17 years, soon to be embarking on my eighteenth year. I currently work in food services while attending school. I am a avid reader, and I enjoy writing my own works as well. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Yes, I do believe in the existence of extraterrestrial life, sentient? perhaps not...but it makes for great reading. Sustained exploration and colonization will yield great opportunities and gifts for the human race. I realize that our universe is vast, and we occupy such a lonely portion of it, however, it would be terrific to "make contact." I have no problems with the human race sending beacons for others to find...we send them every day via radio waves, why not send a beacon with a more enlightening aspect toward the human race?
I run SETI@home because I feel that it is both a practicle and a tangible way to achieve results. I hope to see the linking up of computers in other fields as well (such as the testing of medicines), I regard SETI@home as a test program for other such ventures. The project is great, a worthy cause, it keeps interest and educates. Suggestions? "To infinity, and beyond!" :-D
