I work in the Technology field as a Project Manager. I have held this position for the last 3 years. Prior to this position I worked in retail management. I have worked for the same company since my 18th birthday. I have been in involved with computers as a hobby since the beginning of the XT processors and before. Over the years I owned several small computer operations, but due to the fact I would not give up my primary employment, I gave up trying to run a business on the side. I deal with networks, PC's, main frames, software, printing, connectivity, and aspect of Technology. I like to give 100% to any job, project, or aspect of my life I become involved in, thus doing a part time business did not work for me. I have always been somewhat of a rebel, often being on the wrong side of arguments. I enjoy being the devil's advocate on subject, which is useful as a Project Manager. I enjoy working, and when not doing my employment you can usually find me working around the house or on someone's PC.
I have lived and worked in Va., WVa., Ky., La., and now Texas were it I call home. I live south of Houston, half way between Houston and Galveston. This is a nice place to live and work. You are at the most 30 minutes to an hour away from everything, the beach, the big city, airports, computer stores, etc...

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Extraterrestrial Life must exist. We could not be the only living creature in the universe to grow in knowledge and advance. I think we have already made first contact, but we maybe unaware of the fact. I feel we have already been visited from extraterrestrial life, not so sure all the UFO sittings and abductions are true. But, I do feel we are being studied and will be watched to see how we develop. As to when we discover E.L., well, it will be by accident on behalf, or when E.L. decide to make them known to us. Benefits could be a better life and improved knowledge. The danger could be to the extent of our race being dinner for another race.
Transmitting a beacon for others to find? We are already doing this. We live in world full of radio, TV, microwave, and electronic signals that are being sent all the time around the world and beamed to satellites. We are sending many signals that can be found by another life form. Plus, we are sending out space probes that could also be found by another life form. I think the information being sent now will worry any other life form that receive it, think about what we have on TV and Radio. If they only received our "News Show" then what would they think? We broadcast mostly "Negative" news, because that is what we want to hear. We better be prepared to defend and explain ourselves when the time comes that we actually meet the extraterrestrial life.
I believe SETI is worth while project, if I can help in a small way to improve the knowledge and process the information for SETI, then I have helped to answer the question on "does extraterrestrial life exists?" If you do not want to be involved in what you believe, then you do not really believe it, and do not want to answer the questions on your beliefs. In other words support your views, help find the answers, question what you believe, or stick your head in the sand and shut up.
Seti should continue to search for proof and answers to Extraterrestrial Life.
