Personal background
I'm not sure where to start. Maybe on the fact when, as a young child, I wanted to be an astronaut. To see space up close and personal. I DO know that watching TLC has only fueled my fire for the quest for knowledge in space. Seeing the Eagle Nebulae (right spelling?) in a picture was so totally awesome. That has got to be one of my most favorite pictures of space. Thanks to Hubble. I am a fresh-out-of-High-school 18-year-old, and am working toward a car. :) I couldn't imagine my life without my computer, and work with computers every day. In the desktop sense. I may add to this a a later time, but for now know that I am a normal, average guy with no degrees, and not half the knowledge as some of the people who utilize (and understand) Seti@Home. I would, however, like to learn. Thanx for reading.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Why do I run Seti@home? Hmm. Well, for the biggest reason. To find ETI. Simply put, no? I have ample computer power and processing capabilities, and decided that this power can be used to benifit mankind. I was kinda bummed that my first unit processed was from April of '99. Ouch. I was expecting something more recent. But, que sera, sera. Seti@Home is nothing but a stroke of genious by whomever thought of it. Seti in itself is a marvelous program, and really should be funded by the US Government. After all, we may be in debt, but grants go out to normal people for the tiniest things, why not Seti? Which leads me to donate. A thithe, if you will. A simple thanks for all that Seti has done, and will do. Like Seti donations. I'll stop rambling now.
