Profile: Mike Keppel

Personal background
I run Keppel's Klassics (http://www10.brinkster.com/klassics) web page. A site dedicated to old computers.
My ideal day would be to play old Atari 2600 games and current PC games ALL DAY LONG! After a full day of gaming, I would eat something, then get right back to the gaming goodness and spend the night till dawn the next morning!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

Question 1:
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery

Answer 1:
I believe extraterrestrial life does exist. I believe once we have discovered the means of warp travel, the United Federation of Planets will reveal themselves to us, and extend membership! Benefiting from another life form's science would be the benefit. Evil people will always be there to exploit the new science into something bad (aka the Romulans).

Question 2:
Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?

Answer 1:
Yes. "May the force be with you".

Question 3:
Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?

Answer 3:
To give support to finding other life. I don't think our technology will find anything; however, I'm not a scientist so who knows. Keep on truckin!
