Profile: CTParker

Personal background
I am a graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin (Section of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology). I am currently studying in the field of bacterial genetics and gene transfer, and believe that distributed computing can (and eventually will) be used to further all disciplines of science. I'm glad to see that there are people out there that feel the same.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Although I normally spend my time studying bacteria and gene transfer, I have often wondered (as I imagine most people do at some time in their lives) wether or not we are alone in the universe. I personally think not, but without projects like this one we may never find out.
