A little bit about Me.
Harry Coombs 53 year old Scorpio,
Living in mid coastal New England. (Cape Ann to Portland.)
By trade I am an electroic technician. I have been sense 1973, when I graduated from Manchester High School in Manchester Ct. and joined the USAF.
By Hobbies, I am a fairly good photographer. A fisherman, and a model railroader (N-Scale), I also spend a great deal of time on my home PC, I have had PCs for about 20 years now and have been involved with computers daily sense 1977 at work.
Starting with an HP-9825, HP-85, HP-9826 and progressing from there. The HP-9825 was responsible (with 64k of RAM and a 1M hard drive) for controlling the Heating and air conditioning of Eight buildings, reducing the enegy bill for the first month by more than $60k.
I learned at a very early age that anything could be controlled by a computer. As long as the interface was designed and built correctly. Hense I have had dreams of eventually incorperating computers with my train layouts.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1, I run SETI at home to be a part of the search, successful or otherwise. for Extraterrestrial life as does everyone else here. I run because I can see my computer as a needed resource, as little as it is, it is still a part to make the search more comprehensive.
2, There is a lot of space out there to search. and time is against us. and with us. (what if the sample checked (segment of space) is just starting to develop transmission capabulity) likewise other segment may have gone nova and become covered by ambient nova noise. |
