| I'm a 26 year old network administrator for the US Air Force. I play a fairly wide variety of games(Morrowind to UT'03 to Civ3) with my 3 computers(AMD XP2200 w/ 1.5gb RAM, AMD XP2000 w/ 1gb RAM, AMD XP1800 with 512mb RAM) while running SETI in the background. The rest of my time is spent playing with Bryce and Paint Shop Pro, or catching up on work. |

| I believe extraterrestrial life exists. At the rate the world is funding research tho I believe aliens will find us before we find them. The unknown is always a risk, however this is something I think we have to at least try to discover. A species advanced enough to find us might look down on us for not being as advanced. And see our lack of progress as a sign of weakness. However, this is a human reaction and there is no telling what their thinking will be like. Yes we should transmit a beacon saying "Hey, look over here in this neck of the woods!" We should transmit information regarding our scientific and artistic achievements, maybe enough to intrigue anyone looking our way. I run SETI to do my part to push us towards contact with whoever is out there. I eagerly look forward to that day. |
